The 4th Annual Half Fast Cup
While you'll have to wait until February for the start of the 2012 NASCAR racing season, HESNI racers (and racing fans) will start their engines.

Chicago Indoor Racing in Addison
2381 W. Army Trail Road
Download flyer for full details and registration instructions. But don't wait too long to make your reservations, as space is limited to the first 50 competitors who sign up. Signing up for this event is one time when "half-fast" might not be fast enough!
Admission is free to the first 50 HESNI racers to sign up (limit one racer per member company). Of course, everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the event as a spectator.
Send us your reservation soon. Click here to register online.
Let us know if you plan to race or come as a spectator only. Also please note the later 5:15 p.m. start time this year. There will be food, fun and refreshments before, during and after the races. We hope that you will join us.
For information, call HESNI at (708) 636-5819 or Tim Shanahan at (773) 6301-0007.

HESNI Plans Community Service Project
Founded in 1987, Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) is a charitable organization whose sole purpose is to provide food for children in places where hunger and starvation are a daily threat. Working in partnerships with global non-profit food distribution systems and embedded missionaries in impoverished areas around the world, it ships packaged ingredients to prepare hot, nutritious meals for hungry children in orphanages, schools and facilities for disabled children.
FMSC's system, developed through years of research, experimentation and improvements, really works. But it relies also on the help of volunteers. On Thursday, Jan. 19, HESNI would like to send a group of volunteers to its packing facility in Aurora, IL, to provide a couple hours of help in preparing food packages for shipping. It won't cost you anything to participate, and no special training or skills are required to volunteer -- just a little bit of your time and a desire to help give a child in real need a ray of hope in their future. The meals that we prepare for shipment will be sent to places where they are desperately needed.
We've chosen this activity as a HESNI community service project. I hope that it is successful and the first of many to follow in future years. We can send up to 50 volunteers on January 19. We'll perform our volunteer service 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Afterwards, we'll get together for drinks and appetizers at the nearby Foundry. If you would like to join us on Jan. 19th, please contact me at 847-783-3248 or email cclewis@leopardo.com -- or the HESNI office, 708-636-5819 or email dkdoherty@sbcglobal.net.
